Showsec wins Bloodstock contract PDF Print E-mail

Showsec looks set to play a key role in the continued growth of the United Kingdom’s largest dedicated heavy metal festival after securing a new three-year contract. The crowd management and security specialists have welcomed the opportunity to cement their relationship with Bloodstock Open Air Festival as plans take shape for the event which will once again take place at Catton Park in Derbyshire in August. Bloodstock Open Air has achieved impressive growth year-on-year and this has been recognised with the event being voted Best Medium Sized Festival at the 2012 UK Festival Awards and then being given a similar accolade at the 2013 Live UK Music Awards. “We are delighted to be offered this chance to play our part in a continuation of Bloodstock’s success story,” said Joe Milner, Showsec’s East Midlands Area Manager.

“This will be the fifth year that we have been involved at the festival and on each of the previous four occasions there has been a significant increase in interest.” As well as Bloodstock Open Air attracting more than 12,000 fans in 2013, live streaming on the internet has also proved to be hugely successful since its introduction with a massive increase in viewings from 209,000 in 2012 to over 1.2 million last year.
