Andy Cotton wins ‘Production Manager of the Year’ award PDF Print E-mail

Andy Cotton of TAO Productions was honoured with the Award of “Production Manager of the Year”andy_cotton at the recent 2014 TPI Awards Dinner. The award, sponsored by EFM Event Logistics and presented by Radio 6 presenter and Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman Huey Morgan, was presented following voting by the industry for international production manager of the year and was presented in front of over 1,000 global live production luminaries.

The 2014 TPI Awards Dinner, held at Novetel West, Hammersmith, London on Monday 10th February, recognises those who have achieved the very best in practices, standards and status in the World of Live Events and Productions. The award coincides with TAO Productions coming Runners Up in the “Best Production Team” category at The Event Production Awards 2014 at Earls Court 2 the following night. His award winning year has included working with Mumford and Sons at their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers and Stampedes; The xx in Lisbon, Berlin and London on their ‘Night and Day’ festivals, and seven shows with Sir Cliff Richard outdoors at some of the UK’s most impressive country homes. 2013 also saw Andy Cotton contracted as Production Manager for The Eden Sessions which featured Sigur Ros, Jessie J, Eddie Izzard, Kaiser Chiefs, The xx and Nils Rogers and Chic. After a fantastic year in 2013, TAO Productions are also shortlisted for four awards at The NOEA Awards 2014 to be announced in March, “Event Organiser of the Year”; “Best Practice Award”; “Production Partnership Award” (With The xx) and with The Gentlemen of the Road Festival, Lewes, nominated for “Best Festival over 15,000”.

Tributes have poured in since the award was announced from industry colleagues, including Ed Sheeran Production Manager Chris Marsh, Rod Stewart Production Coordinator and previous TPI Award winner Nicole Erin Kuhns and Commitments frontman Dave Finnegan. Cotton said: “After winning Tpi Award 2014 for 'Production Manager of the Year' and coming Runners Up at The Event Production Awards for 'Production Team of the Year,' I have to say thanks to all the crew, suppliers and clients – this could not be achieved without all of them.” TAO Productions continues to look forward in 2014 with further work on the Eden Sessions, with Dizzie Rascal and Ellie Golding already announced; Tour Safety work for Ed Sheeran’s Arena Tour and on festivals featuring Ben Howard and Jack Johnson.
